Dave van de Dam introduces debut single with banging direct mail!

Dave van de Dam approached LocoMail with a clear mission: to bring his first Dutch-language single "Helemaal van de Dam" to the attention of radio stations in an original way. He was looking for a physical experience that immediately stood out, something that invited to listen and laugh. Together we developed a direct mail campaign In the form of a sound card.

Sound card as a marketing tool

The choice fell on our music card with sound - a card that automatically plays a sound clip when opened. In this case, of course, "All the way from Dam Square". The card's cover contained a playful warning:

"DO NOT OPEN...... UNLESS YOU ARE READY TO GO COMPLETELY OFF THE DAM!"

Inside was more information about Dave, including QR codes to his music, social media channels and contact details.

Eye-catching, cheerful and completely in style

The design of the card - from the retro microphone icon to the Amsterdam dove-with-sunglasses, perfectly matched the mood of the song: festive, accessible and with a wink. The result was a direct mail that not only surprised, but also literally made noise in the radio world.

Result

The card immediately created attention, reach and reactions. Thanks to the built-in audio and striking design, recipients could not ignore the message. An effective introduction of a new artist with a hearty dose of guts - exactly as Dave van de Dam intended.
